Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Making Corporate Social Responsibility Sustainable

Research from Harvard Business Review highlights that employees who perceive their company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts as genuine, tend to have higher engagement and productivity levels .

A Cone Communications report found that 87% of consumers would purchase a product because a company advocated for an issue they care about.

Our sustainability team, headed by Natalie Hore, who has a background in marine conservation advocacy, starting two not-for-profits on this issue across Australia and the United Arab Emirates, has proven expertise and experience hosting Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including beach and ocean clean ups and mangrove tree planting days with various entities.

(These initiatives are held within Abu Dhabi, where participants can collect ‘nurdles’ from the shores of Sadiyaat’s beaches, or planting mangrove trees at Yas Beach. (Nurdles are small plastic pellets, typically less than 5mm in size, that serve as raw material for making plastic products. They are a major source of ocean pollution, as they easily spill during transport and production, often ending up in waterways and harming marine life, particularly turtles which mistake them for food.)

We also align ourselves with our colleagues in Dubai to plant Ghaf trees, and to host up cycling workshops turning old tees into tote bags and Nespresso capsules into keyrings, or to make your own terrarium.

Incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into your business strategy not only enhances your brand’s reputation but also drives long-term sustainability!

Companies that align their CSR initiatives with their core values and create measurable goals, see higher employee engagement, improved customer loyalty, and a stronger impact on communities.

By embedding sustainability into every level of the organization, CSR becomes more than just a checkbox—it transforms into a lasting legacy.
